European Ambassador

Miss Bosnia 2011 supports our mission, and wants to help us touch and change the lives of under privileged children. We are very happy to have Miss Bosnia 2011 as our Ambassador, whom will also walk during our charity show in September

The 2011 Miss Bosnia, Semira Hadžimehmedagić, is not only a 20 year-old international beauty icon but also an aspiring young engineer and humanitarian. Semira grew up during the Bosnian War, a conflict which claimed the lives of nearly 300,000 people, many of whom were women and children. Instead of playing with her friends outside, she had to seek refuge from the bombs and carnage in basement shelters.  However, this harrowing experience did not prevent her from excelling in school. Specializing in mathematics and physics, she graduated at the top of her class from the renowned High School of Mathematics in her hometown of Visoko. She also won many awards from numerous regional, national, and international mathematics and physics competitions, including the International Mediterranean Countries High Schools Mathematics Championship in Spain.

Semira is now an excellent student at the Sarajevo University Electrical Engineering Faculty. She represented Sarajevo University at the International Elektrijada Olympics in Montenegro in 2010. This competition, which has taken place since 1960, is now the largest annual gathering and competition event for electrical engineering students in Europe. She led her team to the Bronze medal.

Semira is also a devout humanitarian. She is running a donation campaign for the Jamaica Early Childhood Development Foundation.

Semira has been selected to represent Bosnia officially as Miss Bosnia in the Miss Global International Beauty Pageant in Jamaica in September 2011. The pageant will benefit the Jamaica Early Childhood Development Foundation, which is chaired by Mrs. Lorna Golding, the wife of Prime Minister Hon. Bruce Golding.  Semira wants to both make her country proud and become an engineer so she can improve the living conditions of people all around the world.
