After careful research and a long selection process, United Colors of Fashion, Inc. (UCOF) is proud to present the designers to be featured at the Annual Gala and International Fashion Spectacle, taking place on October 17, 2012 at the Museum of the City of New York. These designers share and support many of the values that UCOF stands for: Passion, Pride, Quality, and let’s not forget Glamour for Charity. These outstanding and talented designers speak volumes with their dedication, time and support for UCOF’s humanitarian efforts; which is to reach out to the needs of those who are less fortunate and hold the hands of those who need guidance navigating through the world of fashion. UCOF is honored and excited to present the fashion icons for this year, as we are fully confident that THEY WILL DELIVER.

Our Presenting Established International Designers are:
Anya Ayoung-Chee – Pilar ( Caribbean/U.S.A.) Many know the Season 9 Project Runway winner, Anya Ayoung-Chee, a remarkable talent who outshined her opponents with her tenacity, drive and smart fashion sense. Her women’s line “Pilar” has been getting rave reviews and has become a pillar of hope for young and aspiring designers. Her Trinidad and Tobago roots have transcended the image of the US fashion houses and are in pursuit to redefining the Caribbean as a “Fashion Mecca”. We look forward to having her!
Dane Permille Leschly Halle – Style Butler (Denmark) The Style Butler brand was created by Dane Permille Leschly Halle who had a vision of beautiful and high quality feminine clothing. Her pursue to dress women elegantly is achieved by her determination to never compromise on exquisite natural materials and intricate details on each of her pieces. Permille’s popularity has grown throughout the world and has been recognizes by international magazines as an emerging brand to watch. Luxury retailers from 18 countries, sell Style Butler’s garments. Style Butler truly enhances a women’s silhouette.
Amparo Chorda (Spain) We are happy to have Amparo Chorda back with us. Amparo showcased her outstanding collection in UCOF’s 2011 collective show. She’s worked with internationally acclaimed musicians and artists from around the world, dressing them with her finest artistry. Amparo created costumes for “The Belle Époque”, “The King and Me”, “My Fair Lady”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Jugando a Vivir”, “Brujas”, “La Corte del Faraon”, and much more. The Spanish High Society announced her “designer par excellence”. It is clear that Amparo Chorda’s exquisite workmanship has no boundaries.
Shaldon Kopman – Naked Ape (South Africa) Shaldon Kopman is fabulous! He will be the only presenting menswear designer. His unique sense of fashion takes simple and predictable menswear to the extraordinary and unpredictable. Before settling back home in Africa, Sheldon worked as a fashion director and stylist practically all around the world. His strong sense of fashion earned him the “GQ Best Dressed Man” award for 2006-2007. His years of experience allowed him the opportunity to be one of the four judges on the hit show “Diamond in the Ruff” and as “Fashion Police” for the Royal Monaco Wedding, among other things. We guarantee that you’ll be on the edge of your seat anticipating each look.
Soucha – Soucha Fashion House (Egypt) Soucha is a power house in Cairo, Egypt. His formal training in the elite and prestigious Academia Della Moda in Florence has propelled him a force not to be reckoned with. His romantic and whimsical designs are enervative and inspiring. Soucha has earned the confidence and trusts of celebrities in the entertainment world in Egypt and Arabia, by their desire to have him dress them. His following, however, expends beyond these borders. Soucha has also presented in the Couture Fashion Week in New York City. His designs have been featured in the media worldwide, including magazines like Envy, Charisma, Style and Alter Ego, to name a few.
Carla Silva – Angolan Fashion House (Angola) This will be Carla Silva first time presenting with UCOF and in New York. She has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years. Carla’s unique designs are African attire with a twist. Her inspirations are attributed to her travels to places like Paris, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Accra and Johannesburg. We believe that she will be well received here in the states.
David Tlale (South Africa) We are also pleased to have David Tlale back with us. This will be David’s second time presenting with UCOF. David is known as the “King of Fashion” in Africa. His work and keen sense of fashion has won him many accolades. To name a few, David’s been voted as the most stylish person at the South Africa Style Awards and also voted “Mzansi’s Star Fashion Designer at the Mzansi Star Awards. The David Tlale brand is known for its bold and dramatic colors, fabrics, and textures. Along with presenting with UCOF this year, David Tlale was the first South African designer to show on schedule this season at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.
Jose Fuente – Losson Couture (Spain) Losson was invited to show with us. They are not able to attend the show due to unforeseen circumstances. However, they have designed two amazing gowns to donate to UCOF , which the organization is going to auction off during the silent auction.
Losson Couture is the epitome of beauty and comfort. The brand values quality and takes great pride in providing one of a kind fashion. Jose Fuente is a rising star in Spain and is ready to take the US fashion industry by force.
